JANUARY

POWDER VIDEO AWARDS

The North Face is a proud sponsor of the 7th Annual POWDER Video Awards and Reader Poll in Aspen, CO. Created to recognize the industry that pioneered the action sports film, the POWDER Video Awards and Reader Poll honors skiing’s most triumphant achievements from the 2005/06 season in a red-carpet night.
  • WHEN: Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 8:00pm
  • WHERE: Hotel Jerome - Aspen, CO
  • DETAILS: Visit www.powder.com
The first awards show was a small affair held in a theater in Las Vegas during the annual Snowsports Industry of America tradeshow. This grassroots event marked the first time filmmakers from different companies had gathered to celebrate each other’s work. The event put a spotlight on smaller filmmakers whose work was often overlooked. In keeping with the tradition, The North Face is re-introducing the Best Amateur Skier and Best Amateur Videographer awards this season. Based on peer voting on snow.thenorthface.com and final round judging by a professional panel of industry moguls, The North Face Video Awards for Best Amateur Skier and Best Amateur Videographer present aspiring skiers and videographers with the opportunity to showcase their talents to the industry's "who's who" at the awards ceremony for their shot at the big time.

On the professional side, keep your eyes peeled for The North Face athletes Ingrid Backstrom, Ian McIntosh, Dana Flahr, and Will Burks who have been nominated this season for their outstanding on-screen performances in the mountains. Fore more information and a live webcast of the event, be sure to visit www.powder.com.
